Risk Questionnaires

SLG LiveSite Portlet

Oxford Risk Research and Analysis (ORRA) has developed two Risk Questionnaires for Standard Life. The differences between the two questionnaires are described below.

ORRA are an independent company, linked to the University of Oxford. They are leading experts in the field of risk and analysis, dedicated to the practical application of knowledge in risk and risk behaviour.

The Risk Questionnaires help you understand more about your client’s appetite for risk. They help you have an enhanced conversation with your client about risk.

The questionnaires are also available to download in PDF format. This gives you the flexibility to use them with your clients when required.

Note: The risk questionnaires are not suitable for use with clients who are unwilling to take any investment risk.

Following a decision to invest in one of Standard Life’s MyFolio ranges or in the Managed Portfolio Service solution, the Risk Questionnaires can also be used to help identify which fund or strategy is best aligned to a client’s risk score. We have produced a set of risk mapping guides to support this:

We recognise that you might prefer to use a different risk questionnaire, so these mappings also cover questionnaires offered by Distribution Technology and FinaMetrica.

10Q Risk Questionnaire

This questionnaire uses 10 questions to help you understand more about your client’s appetite for risk. The questionnaire:

• Is quick and easy to complete
• Provides the client’s risk score, indicating where in a risk band they fall
• Enables a conversation about risk with your client

17Q Risk Questionnaire

This questionnaire uses 17 questions to help you understand more about your client's appetite for risk. The questionnaire:

• Provides 5 extra risk measures, offering further analysis of your client’s risk attitudes
• Produces a customised report for every client
• Provides a paper trail to support compliance audit
• Enables a conversation about risk with your client
