The Capital Protected Bond from Standard Life Bank offers your clients a great way to access the investment potential the stock market can offer but without the risks.

Their capital is 100% secure and performance growth is linked to the FTSE*100 index over the duration of the bond so they’ll benefit from any growth the FTSE 100 experiences. Even if the FTSE 100 falls they still receive their original investment back in full.

This new bond comes with a highly competitive participation rate and is available on a limited offer basis only.

How does it work?

• Your clients’ funds are not directly invested in the stock market; the Index is used as a basis for interest calculation only.
• FTSE 100 performance is measured at the start of the bond term and then once each month during the final year of the bond term (the averaging period) to get an end value which is the average over the final year.
• The difference between the start and end value is then used to represent average growth of the FTSE 100 over the bond term.
• This average growth value is then multiplied by the bond's participation rate to give the final rate of return which may be capped.

Key Facts

• Available to individual personal investors over 16 years of age and resident in the UK.
• Minimum deposit of £1,000 and maximum of £1m per bond though multiple bonds can be opened up to a total of £10 million.
• Single Deposits only accepted from launch until 15 days prior to strike date.
• 14 day cancellation period from receipt of funds prior to start / strike date.
• On maturity the capital plus any interest will be transferred to a Direct Access Savings Account or another Standard Life or external account of the customers' choice.
• No early access is allowed - upon death the estate will receive the higher of the original deposit or the current market value. The bond can also be transferred to an individual beneficiary upon request from the estate.
