We were recently delighted to announce the addition of the M&G Cautious Multi Asset Fund to our sigma Life and Pensions and FundZone platform. We asked the Fund Manager, David Jane from M&G to tell us a little more about the fund.
The following information has been provided by M&G.
The IMA Cautious Managed Sector is one of the most popular and fastest growing sectors in the UK.
Our new Cautious Multi Asset Fund is managed by the only AAA rated manager in the cautious managed sector – David Jane. We believe this fund offers something unique to retail investors.
David Jane comments, “The M&G Cautious Multi Asset Fund is a step on from previous managed funds in the fact that it is truly multi-asset. It offers investors access to equities and fixed income, as has always been the case, but also now we are able to offer property and innovative asset classes, such as leveraged loans for the first time. Furthermore, all this is available within a cautious risk profile.”
More flexibility
Launched in February this year, the M&G Cautious Multi Asset Fund aims to deliver steady, competitive returns across different market conditions by finding the best asset classes and investment themes and backing those ideas with conviction.
More diversity
A key factor in the investment decision and the starting point for creating a portfolio structure is asset allocation. David Jane comments, “We believe that we can add significant value by investing in areas which, in our opinion, will perform most strongly and avoiding those areas which will perform most poorly. This approach is complemented by an in-house Portfolio Strategy and Risk Team who help me to ensure the portfolio is achieving the maximum available return at all times.”

More expertise
As the largest active manager of equities in the UK, one of the top investment houses for generating alpha and one of the largest fixed interest managers in the UK, we are well positioned in both the equity and bond arenas.
M&G also recently launched the first open-ended, Dublin regulated European Leveraged Loan Fund, capitalising on our specialist expertise in this area. Furthermore, PRUPIM, a subsidiary of M&G, is one of the largest and most experienced property managers in the UK with over £19 billion funds under management.
