The latest Advice Drivers report from IFA Promotion (IFAP) shows that the demand for independent retirement planning advice has reached record heights.
IFAP, the organisation promoting the benefits of independent financial advice, received 40,008 requests for details of local retirement planning IFAs between July and September this year.
The report also shows that the demand for independent financial advice during the summer was up 13% on the same time last year. In the third quarter of 2006, IFAP handled 138,157 requests for details of local IFAs.
David Elms, Chief Executive of IFAP, commented:
“Our report reflects that even six months after A-Day there is still a thriving demand for independent financial advice. It is also indicative of consumers’ sustained need for advice on preparing for retirement, which is of course a very positive development”
The fifth of IFAP’s regular reports, compiled from the comprehensive data on the selections people make when requesting a local IFA, reveals that the number of enquiries for retirement advice remained the most popular consumer enquiry throughout July to September.
