The Standard Life Loan Plan is ideal for clients who are not yet ready to take the big step of making a gift of capital. A well known feature of the Loan Plan is that the client (Settlor) is able to access the capital by demanding repayment of the loan, in the form of withdrawals from the bond (usually 5%). Standard Life's Gift Plan is available through our Capital Investment Bond, Distribution Bond and the International Bond. Clients have access to a suite of trusts and can choose from the Discretionary, Flexible or Absolute Trust: Discretionary Trust Under a Discretionary Trust no Beneficiary has a fixed right to the capital and income from the Trust. The Trustees have the final say on who benefits from the Trust. Flexible Trust Under a Flexible Trust a named Beneficiary has a right to income (i.e. interest in possession) but the Trustees can change the Beneficiaries at a later date. Absolute Trust Under an Absolute Trust the Beneficiaries are fixed at the outset and cannot be changed by the Trustees. |
