John Lawson, Head of Pensions Policy

John is a well-known figure in the world of pensions. He speaks on and writes about developments in pensions, and is a regular commentator in the financial press. John is responsible for ensuring that the interests of Standard Life and our customers are represented to the government, and he’s a member of a number of industry-wide working groups.

Andrew Tully, Senior Pensions Policy Manager

Andy's primary role is the analysis and communication of pensions regulation, legislation and taxation. He regularly writes and comments on pensions for the financial media, speaks at conferences and seminars and is a member of a number of industry-wide working groups. A large part of Andy's role is to represent Standard Life's views on pensions and related issues to the government and other key stakeholders. Much of his current work revolves around the impact of the 2012 pension reform changes, ensuring advisers and employers are aware of the proposals and what they mean in practical terms.

Before taking on this role in April 2006, Andy was Technical Development Manager at Scottish Equitable where he managed the pensions technical and transfer value analysis areas. Prior to working at Scottish Equitable, Andy worked at Standard Life from 1986 to 1999, mostly in a technical role.
